Did you know that men are less likely to visit the doctor for regular check-ups than women? Regular health screenings can help catch issues early and save lives.
Men’s Health Awareness Week is a crucial time to focus on the health and well-being of men everywhere. It’s a reminder for all of us to encourage the men in our lives to take proactive steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
- Physical Health: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and routine medical check-ups are key. Early detection and prevention can make a significant difference in managing health issues.
- Mental Health: It’s equally important to address mental health. Men often face societal pressures to be “tough” and may hesitate to seek help. Let’s break the stigma and promote open conversations about mental health.
- Awareness and Support: Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to be aware of their health and seek support when needed. Whether it’s scheduling a check-up, talking to a mental health professional, or simply starting a conversation about health, every step counts.
Supporting our staff on mental health
At Mason Advisory, we are committed to supporting the mental health of our employees. We have a range of resources available internally to ensure our team members have access to the support they need:
Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA):
We have a number of MHFAs who are points of contact if any of our staff are experiencing wellbeing distress. They provide initial, non-judgmental support and can direct you to appropriate help if required.
Wellbeing Lounge:
This is a one-stop shop for wellbeing resources, fun activities, and useful information. This is a space for relaxation and recreation, and staff are free to drop in anytime to share their thoughts, stories, wellness tips, or even your favourite recipes.
Wellbeing Guidelines:
We have Wellbeing Guidelines that staff have access to which include further references and a stress self-assessment tool.
Check-In Tool:
Our Career Development & Performance Review (CDPR) promotes and facilitates regular check-ins and open communication for all staff.
Wellbeing
All our staff have access to a Wellbeing app, offered as part of our private Healthcare.
Headspace:
Meditation and mindfulness can help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance sleep quality. Mason Advisory Limited employees get free access to Headspace, offering hundreds of guided exercises for meditation, sleep, focus, and movement.
